Just long range planning for next May at this point, but I'm headed from Belfast to Dunfanaghy, and I'm looking for one night in either Ballycastle or Portrush. On leaving Belfast, I plan to head to Rathlin Island for the birds, then either Portrush or Ballycastle. The next morning I plan the Dunluce/Giants Causeway/Dunseverick/Dark Hedges loop (e-w from Ballycastle, clockwise from Portrush) then on to Dunfanaghy. Portrush is a little farther and involves a little backtracking, but Portrush looks like more likely music in a pub, and Rick Steves seems to think a lot of it as a destination. In either case, it will be a late afternoon arrival and early departure. I think a good trad session is our biggest driver.
