We're planning on staying two nights in Ennis and two nights in Galway County. Would love to get recommendations for B&B's in Ennis. Also would like suggestions/recommendations on whether we should stay in Galway or a town nearby.

I think that accommodations in and near Galway and Salthill have been pretty often discussed on this Travel Forum, if you want to scroll through the archives or use the search box above. It's been years since I did any B&B hunting in Ireland, but I never found a bad one. For Ennis, Rick's guidebook suggests 2 B&Bs, either Grey Gables B&B at www.bed-n-breakfast-ireland.com or www.stonehavenclare.com; plus a couple of larger hotels are on his list.

I highly recommend Newpark House in Ennis. We have stayed there twice and loved it. The setting is beautiful and the house sits back off the road so it is quite. The bedroom show on their slideshow is the one we stayed in during our second visit!
Declan, the host, is great and makes you feel right at home. You will love staying at Newpark House.
