B & B or Hotel recommendations

Hi I am looking for B & B or Hotel recommendations for July in the following areas for my son and I (prefer under $200/night):
Dublin, Kilkenny, Galway, Dingle, Killarney and Limerick. I was there 19 years ago and had great stays at B & B's, but cannot remember names. Any restaurant suggestions would be great too!

We stayed at Hotel Kilkenny last summer and really enjoyed it. In Killarney, we stayed at the Lake Hotel and it was amazing. It is located right next to the Killarney National Park. I cannot remember how much they were per night. Dublin is pricey and we used points to stay at the Shelbourne. I would look to book asap as hotels sell out really quickly in the summer months.

Restaurant wise. We all really enjoyed the Boxty House in Dublin as well as the Brazen Head. My daughter still says the Brazen head had the best fish and chips in all of Ireland :)
In Dingle, we really enjoyed the atmosphere and food at Murphy's pub. In Galway, the whole family enjoyed the pizza at Dough Bros and the pies at the Pie maker

Enjoy your trip!

I'm repeating sharon's advice for emphasis. Book in Dublin asap. We had difficulty finding suitable accommodations there in February, twice, 15 years ago. I doubt it's easier now, and July is going to fill up earlier than you think.

We stayed at Staunton's on the Green in Dublin and really enjoyed it. I booked with credit card points, but I believe it is under $200 a night (although we stayed in October; I assume July is more expensive). It's on the south side of St. Stephen's Green, so it's walkable to almost everything in Dublin, but is very quiet. Breakfast was very good. In fact, we arrived at the hotel around 9:00 a.m. after our red-eye. The staff not only invited us to have an extra free breakfast that morning, by the time we were done, our room was ready.

In Kilkenny, we stayed outside of the city center at the Lyrath Estate (again using points). It was a gorgeous hotel, the grounds were stunning, and the breakfast was terrific. When we went into Kilkenny, we drove, it would be about a 45 minute walk. So if you want to be right in the city center, this isn't the right spot. I would suspect though, that in July, this is over $200/night.

In Dingle, we stayed at Browne's B&B, and I can't recommend it enough. The hosts, John and Camilla, were wonderful. John sat us down on our arrival and spent a good 20-30 minutes talking about his favorite restaurants, where the best live music would be that night, etc. Camilla's breakfasts were outstanding, and she gave us some great tips for the Slea Head Drive that even Rick missed! This is maybe about a 10-15 minute walk from the "downtown" area of Dingle.

In Galway, we stayed at the Connacht. I wouldn't recommend it.

In Kilkenny: Butler Court
In Dingle: Castlewood House - hands down the best place we stayed in all of Ireland.

I can recommend both wholeheartedly. They are different from each other, but very lovely.

The Euro and the US dollar are quite close right now. You should have no trouble getting great accommodation for under $200 USD.

Like Steve, we stayed at the Connacht in Galway and would not recommend either.

In Dingle, we stayed just outside, in Ventry at Garvey's Farmhouse. It is a working dairy farm and it was amazing! Highly recommend

How far out of town is the farm? Can we walk to town and back if we want to go to the pubs at night for music?

We've stayed at Milestone House in Dingle twice and loved it both times. In Galway we really enjoyed our stay at Petra House.

Thank you for all the wonderful ideas! I have booked my trip now I have to shop for rain gear! I was to Ireland 19 years ago in May and it was 85 degrees and sunny 18 out of 20 days there... I hope I have the same luck!
