We are traveling to Ireland June 2015 for our second trip; we were there for our honeymoon last June. This trip we are flying into Dublin and heading right out of the city to do a loop of the southeast coast leaving from Shannon. We'd like to spend our first two nights in Wicklow or nearby. Can anyone recommend a great B&B? We checked out the one Rick recommended in Enniskerry and it has closed. We plan to hike Mt. Lugnaquilla and visit Glendalough and loved the idea of being based close by, but on the coast. We are currently booked at The River Lodge B&B, looking for confirmation it's a decent place to stay or recommendations for alternate B&B. Thanks for your help!
Last October, my mom and I stayed at Ferndale B&B in Enniskerry, and we had a wonderful time! We were right across the street from a terrific pub with great food, five minutes from Powerscourt Gardens, and had parking off the street. Highly recommended!
Not technically a b&b, but Hunter's Inn in Rathnew is lovely. We stayed there last month and the gardens were already blooming. In June they would be amazing. It is a very old travelers' coach stop. We had a great "tea"' and breakfast very good. We drove straight from Dublin Airport and it took about 1-1/4 hour. Because it had been a long travel day we opted for the half board and dinner was very nice also.
