I have stayed at the Petra House B&B in Galway two separate times (2011 and 2015) and highly recommend it, although it is about a 10-minute walk from there to Eyre Square according to Google Maps.

We've stayed at Prague House several times. They don't use booking.com etc. so they tend to have space when others don't. Just google for them - I thin the B&B Association provides a link. I have a direct email if you PM me.

I've stayed in College Crest House on College Road twice, and would go back again. There are a number of other B&Bs on College Road, all a 10-minute walk to Eyre Sq.

Another vote here for Petra House. Comfy, warm, charming and welcoming hosts, good location. As mentioned above, there are lots of B&Bs on College Road. Within walking distance of everything we needed. It's in Rick's guidebook.
