B&B in Ennis?

We have been to Ennis three times. Each time we stayed at Grey Gables and thoroughly enjoyed each visit. Sadly, they are no longer in business. I plan on getting back this October and am in need of a good B&B with twin beds as this time I am going with one of my adult daughters.

Many thanks.

We’ve been in Ireland for 2 weeks, and are finishing up in Ennis next week. We’re staying at Glenomra House B&B ( www.glenomrahouse.com ), although haven’t actually stayed there yet. They sure looked like a winner, and we’re looking forward to our stay in a few days.

Cyn beat me to it! I stayed at the Glenomra House B&B at the beginning and end of last summer's trip and highly recommend it. The owner, Mary, is the consummate host, her breakfast help cheerful and attentive and her scones - large scones with butter and jam - yummy and filling. It's only a 15-20 minute walk into town as well.

Their Website says they’re just an 8 minute walk from the town center … we’ll see. Hopefully the twin beds need can be met for the Original Poster.

Can,
How long did it actually take you to walk into town from Glenomra House? I am considering Glenomra vs the more centrally located Temple Gate Hotel.

Gregoryabell, it was probably 12 minutes, maybe even 15 in the dark at night, walking home from dinner and pub music sessions. There are a few intersections with stoplights and crosswalks, and if you got an immediate green light, and walked faster than we did (which you likely do), it could take less time. It wasn’t too long a walk in the end, and not hard.

Mary’s Glenomra House B&B was truly a fantastic stay. Breakfasts were wonderful, and she’s a delightful person. Sadly, her husband is in assisted living with health problems, and she said that she might not be running the B&B much longer. I don’t know if it will be an option in 2024 - hopefully it will be, with or without her. But Glenmore might not be available, depending on the circumstances.
