B&B Accomodations when traveling in a group of 3

I am taking my son and his partner to Ireland in October. I don’t think I want to share a room with them. Has anyone had luck with finding a room for a single and a double room? I’m not finding many with single rooms. My son fondly remembers B&Bs from when I took him there as a boy. Thanks.

We've traveled with three and you're correct that there are few B&Bs that offer singles, although some offer a slightly lower price for two single beds rather than double. An odd wheel usually gets stuck with a "single supplement" (like on a cruise ship). I'd suggest looking for a friend to round out your group, since the incremental cost is so low.

I travel solo and usually book single rooms when possible. Last June I spent a month in Ireland in a variety of accommodations and often just book a “double using as a single” (something like that terminology). I don’t know that it’s still open, but the Ben View Guesthouse in Clifden is the kind of place you are talking about. :)
