Dear RS friends,
My family just returned from an awesome two-weeks in Ireland. I found this forum tremendously helpful in planning our trip, and am thankful for it. I thought it would be only fair to share a helpful tip with you-all...
Our itinerary allowed only one day in Belfast. I knew there was so much to see, but little time. Thanks to a tip, I got in touch with Susie Millar, a Belfast local tour guide. Susie was a delightful Belfast ambassador for the day! She is a former television reporter, having reported on bombings during The Troubles. In addition, her great-grandfather sank on the Titanic, and she is currently President of the Belfast Titanic Society. No-one is better qualified to provide personal experiences and perspective of Belfast.
Susie picked us up, and customized the day around our schedule, dropping us off at the train station in the afternoon. This was the last day of our trip, and she filled many of the knowledge gaps (explaining Ireland's complex history in easy-to-understand language). She is a class act.
I HIGHLY recommend spending the day with Susie. Tell her I sent you!
Happy travels,
Ron
