Hello - My husband and I will be traveling to Ireland at the end of August. I am in the process of reserving a rental car for three days which has been scary. I have a quote from someone for an automatic, gps, full insurance including tires, glass and underside of vehicle. Unlimited mileage and no hold on debit or credit card. Total cost including taxes: 279 euros. Is this reasonable or should I be cautious?

I guess it depends on the size of the vehicle and possibly where you’re picking the car up and dropping it off. Even the days of the week you have the car will affect the price. Check with other companies for a similar car, coverage, days, pick up and drop off and find out what they would charge. Then, make your decision. Ensure the company is reputable.
I tend to rent a manual-transmission economy car for half that price but that is not an unusual price quote for an automatic (usually doubles the base price), with full insurance, and perhaps larger than economy size. If you want to compare rates at AutoEurope (or maybe that already is your source), they work with half a dozen suppliers in Ireland.
