When we leave Galway we will be working our way to a new lodging about an hour outside of Dublin. While that is a travel day, I believe we will have time to see Ashford Castle, Kylemore Abbey, or both. Give me some thoughts on this! Unreasonable to do both?
I will add that while the falcons at Ashford may be wonderful, I'm not sure it's on our must do list. Hawks eat our chickens all the time; we see them frequently.

I think you can do both in one day, but not sure how much time you would need to tour the house and gardens at Kylemore Abbey.
Kylemore Abbey is quite nice. You can easily spend a couple of hours there. The grounds are extensive and it is a pretty good walk from the Chapel on one end to the Garden on the other. Everything is paved and pretty level. There are some nice pictures to be taken from across the lake. If I recall correctly, we also stopped for tea and a scone and bought some nice stuff in the gift shop.
