Hi- I’m taking my 18 yr old twins and Mom to Ireland in May. We fly from US into DUB then we are heading to Kinsale for 2 nights then to Dingle for 3 nights then to Doolin for 1 night then Derry for 3 nights then DUB. Adding my husband and I went to Ireland 9/2001 for our honeymoon and we promised our kids we’d take them when they graduated HS. He did all of the driving bc I was kicked off the wheel 20 mins outside of Shannon airport when I went up on a curb… lol. My promotion to co-pilot worked out great for us. My husband has been watching after us from heaven for a few years now so I’ll be the only driver this time. I thought taking a bus from Dublin center to Cork airport would help me with jet lag and also take a few days off of me driving since Kinsale is walkable. Is there an express bus or even train? Any feedback would be appreciated. I’m nervous about driving but will def not let my fear deter me from following through with our promise. Thx in advance for your insight.
There is an hourly train from Dublin Heuston to Cork, then an hourly bus #226 leaves from Cork Railway Station to Kinsale. That bus also calls at Cork Airport so you could pick up a car there after your time in Kinsale.
City link and Aircoach both run buses hourly (so a combined frequency of every 30 minutes) from Dub!in Airport to Cork Lower Glanmire Road.
That stop is a very short distance from Cork Railway Station for the 226 bus.
Thank you, isn31c. Appreciate your help.
