My 9 year old son, husband and 77 year old MIL will be staying with my MIL family on Inishmaan from July 31st to August 2nd. Are there ferries that go between the islands? It looks like it is worth visiting Inishmore, but I am not sure how to do that if we are staying on Inishmaan.

I visited Inishmore Island in 1997 and 1999. Back then, ferries went between Inishmore and Inishmaan. I remember wishing that I could go to Inishmaan -- principally to see Synge's Chair -- but did not find the time. In addition, I remember that there was a ferry that went directly from the mainland to Inishmaan.
However, I'm not sure if those are both the case today. Check the websites of the ferry operators, including those that operate from Rossaveel harbor.
