Anyone travel to the Aran Islands in October? Had one tour operator tell me boats probably wont be operational then but that was to the smallest island.
We’ve visited twice, first time by ferry and second by plane. The plane’s really the way to go. We haven’t been in October; June the first time, and mid-September the second (which is almost October!), and rough seas delayed or cancelled ferries both trips. The plane flies when boats can’t make the crossing. All 3 islands are served by plane - check https://aerarannislands.ie/
The two Doolin-based companies - Doolin Ferries and Doolin Aran Ferries - operate April through October, although overly choppy seas can cancel any scheduled run. Aran Island Ferries - based in Rossaveel on the south Connemara coast - runs year round and is also subject to the wims of the weather and seas.
