We will be taking a day trip from Galway to Inis Mor with our 8 month old in April. We were looking at bike rentals but with our son being so young, I do not think he can safely be in a rear bike seat yet. Is there another way to get around the island that may be better with an infant?

There are mini-buses for touring people around. Also, there are pony carts, but I’m not sure how safe that would be for a baby either - perhaps you can decide once you’re there.

I would contact the bike rental providers directly about the availability of a bike trailer /ebike combination. The roads are a bit narrow, but if you get off the main highway, not too busy.
