April itinerary-Castle Choice

Below is my tentative itinerary- know it's full but will to minimize the touring as really want to spend time just hanging out with the locals. Our second trip but our travel mates first time ti Ireland. Would love to hear your thoughts about the plan and your suggestion about the castle choice. I had decided on Balleynahinch sine we already did the castle thing but then thought I'd be short changing our companions.
1 night in Dublin on arrival
2 nights at The Lake Hotel in Killarney
2nights in Dingle at Castlewood
2. Nights at either Ashford in Cong or Balleynahinch in Recess
Leave next morning for Dublin Airport for 1:30 flight to Glasgow

Plan to see main sights only and spend more time hanging out with locals on this trip

Thanks in advance for your help. The Rich Steves book is great but still need a little more help. Already have air tickets so can't make any changes there

Without a doubt......Ashford. Truly wonderful!!

If they don't have a two-night special posted on their web site for when you plan to go, email them and likely they will offer a package special to you (breakfasts and one dinner, etc. with a good room price)....and worth it to get a deluxe room.

Do the Hawk Walk while you are there....incredible experience!

En route to Ashford, if you have time, go thru Connemara (lovely scenic drive) and stop at Kylemore Abbey.

Ashford is a great place to just hang out, and it's a super easy walk into the village of Cong (where you could have a pub dinner one night).
