The location of the Albany is great, right next to St Stephen's Green. Can anyone tell me about the rooms, staff, and breakfast?
Not recent information, but we really liked the hotel when we stayed there about 12 years ago. Check recent TripAdvisor (or other) photos for the rooms and breakfast. They should give you a pretty good idea.
I've stayed at Albany House several times over the years (my first stay was 39 euro a night), but not recently. The rooms were large, well appointed and spotless. The bathrooms large and beautiful. No elevator. No on-site bar or restaurant (except for breakfast). They do not serve a cooked Irish breakfast, but the breakfast buffet was lovely with ample choice. The staff were attentive and courteous. Several on staff were there for years. The area can be noisy at night, but that rarely interfered with my sleep. As you noted, the location is great, right on the Luas. I think my last stay was about 2017.
Thank you for your detailed response. Question: what is the Luas?
The tram system. Very handy.
Thanks for the info - important to know : )
