We fly back to the states on Thursday morning and hoping not to have to arrive at the airport at 4:00am! Any updates. Our private tour giude told us aim for 4 hours ahead but definitely nothing less than 3 1/4 hours before flight. Anyone have a recent experience that you can share?

My son left last Thursday on a 12:35 flight Aer Lingus to Dulles. He was able to check in online before, arrived at about 8:30 and was through and at his gate in under an hour. Had a co-worker and his family leave yesterday, Saturday, and he arrived at 12:30 for a 4:35 flight, also Aer Lingus to Dulles, and had to go to the counter to check in bags. Took him 57 minutes just for check in with Aer Lingus. Security took 5 minutes and US Customs 32 minutes, so around 90 minutes on a Saturday mid day. It seems like the worst has passed. My wife and I are leaving next Wednesday for a 1235 flight to Dulles but I am still getting there at 0830. Note, they both said the food options are bad (after security) as are the lines to get the food so we plan on a big breakfast before heading to the airport so we don’t have to worry about it.
