Any tours around Ireland like Rick's?

I wanted to do the 2 week tour around Ireland with Rick Steves this year, but alas, all the scheduled segments are now filled, from April into October, and we don't the uncertainty of waitlisting.

Can anyone suggest any somewhat similar tours with other operators?

Here's a quick summary of the overnights, location and number: Dublin 2, Kinsale 2, Dingle 2, Galway 2, Westport 1, Portrush 1, Belfast 2.

I have never done a Rick Steves tour (yet) but really enjoyed Royal Irish Tours for a two week tour of Ireland with my mom a few years ago.

Maybe 25 people on the tour. Hotels were all centrally located.

We did the 12 Day Giant Irish Adventure with Vagabond Tours of Ireland. The maximum number of tour members is 13. None of the time was in Dublin, but we did about 5 days on our own there.

We did Taucks Best of Ireland back in 2018 and had a great time. More expensive than RS but includes a lot more. Better hotels, more meals, airport transfers, you don't have to carry your own luggage. More is always included than listed on the itinerary.

Road Scholar, very similar to RS, does Ireland tours.

I have a similar question but regarding a small group tour for a solo traveler in her early 20’s. My daughter wants to solo (first time abroad) travel in Ireland and I’m hoping to show her some tour options instead of her doing it all herself. There was an EF tour that had younger age group for solos, but some of the reviews said the groups were large.

You could try Rabbies. They offer small group tours with a maximum of 16 people with guaranteed departures. No meals are included and you can book your own accommodations if you choose as long as they are with a short distance of the town center. I think they would be a great option for a young, solo traveler. All tours start in Dublin, but they do not tour Dublin itself. I took two tours with them and had a great time. Just returned from Ireland (Feb 26 - March 5) A few weeks before leaving I arranged a 3 day tour with a company called Tours by Locals. This is unlike other tour companies. If you read their website they contract with independent tour guides. We lucked out with Deirdre who specialized in the Dingle area. She explained that over the past 15 years or so she had worked with a few of the other tour companies (Paddywagon, Vagabond and an outdoor adventure company) before joining Tours by Locals. She created our three day tour specifically for the places we wanted to visit but she also made some great suggestions, places only a local would know and are off the beaten track. You could find a few tour guides with this outfit and they might work together to follow your reservations. Best of luck planning your adventure.
