does anyone know how to connect with an american expat community in ireland?
I just googled expat community Ireland. Got a lot of stuff. You can too.
Yes, I did, too. However, these are a lot of people & orgs promoting travel. Not a forum setup to exchange info, such as this one is.
The groups I know of are private groups on FaceBook. Try different FaceBook searches using different key words: Americans in Ireland, Americans retiring in Ireland, Living in Ireland, Moving to Ireland, etc, and they should pop up. You can see how many members, how active they are, and you ask to join. Good luck.
thank you for the info.
sadly, not fond of social media groups.
Then unfortunately it will be impossible to connect with expat groups.
Besides social media, how else would you expect to connect to these groups?
My husband does no social media at all, so I get it. FaceBook is the only social media I do, but it's only to keep connected with these groups. Many are helpful.
For example, right now I have a question about reimbursement after seeing a different generalist MD when my own generalist is booked up. What's the solution? Ask the question in "Strictly Sante France". It's possible to ask questions anonymously. They are monitored to avoid opinions, jeers or cheers. Just the facts allowed.
There's also Strictly Legal, Strictly Financial, Applying for a Visa, Driving, Restoring a House and many more.
You can join, take a look, and exit if they aren't helpful. I've dropped groups with too many opinions, people trying to sell something, or irrelevant subjects.

This is a social media group.
