Aircoach Bus, to/from Dublin airport

Hi all!
We need to get to downtown Dublin from airport. And then return for our flight back. The Aircoach bus seems easy and inexpensive. If anyone has experience and can answer our questions, that would be super!
1. Seems we should buy tx ahead of time. We expect to return rental car at airport at noon, so makes sense to book a 12:30 or 1:00 bus. But, what if we are late? Does that time I choose when I buy the tickets lock us in to that time? Can we just catch another bus, or do I need to change the pickup time once we know we will be late? (I think I can get the app and do this?) Is this easy to do and will there be seats on the next bus or do they fill up?
2. For return to airport (for flight back), I can make sure we are at bus stop in plenty of time to catch the bus we bought tickets for. Is there a danger that the bus will be full of other passengers and we can't get on? We are picking it up at 1-2 stops before airport, so plenty of prior stops for people to fill it up!
Thank you for any help!

RE 2, yes, that can be an issue. When I took the bus from my hotel back to the airport, we passed a few stops where people were waiting and just kept going because the bus was full. I left on a Sunday am; if your departure is at a time likely to be less busy then it may not be an issue. Otherwise you may want to plan for a taxi or rideshare.

As I recall, I bought my ticket from DUB into the city on the platform where the bus leaves, outside the terminal. Immigration took a long time so I was glad I hadn't committed to a particular bus departure -- but I expect I could have taken a later one with a pre-purchased ticket. As it was, one bus left full and I had to wait for the next one, not long.

I don't know about your second question, but the previous post tells you to allow plenty of time.

Just my opinion but sometimes it’s worth it to pay a bit more to ease the stress that you will make your flight with time to spare. I remember the cab ride from downtown Dublin to the airport as being about 30 minutes and not outrageously expensive. I would be a nervous wreck if I was waiting for a bus only to have it pass by because it was full.

I've never purchased a ticket prior to arrival. I would get it just before boarding the AirCoach at DUB.

As for the return, it really depends on where and when you plan to get on. Closer to the airport and at a busy time could mean some buses will be full.

I've taken taxis back to the airport. It's not very expensive especially if you are two stops away. Less headaches and worry.

Thank you all for the great advice! Really appreciate the first-hand knowledge!
We will wait until we get back to airport to buy bus tx to get into Dublin. And will definitely take a taxi back to airport for return flight.
