After RS Ireland tour visit to Belfast?

After our 6 day tour would like to do a 1 day back & forth of Belfast & possible Giants causeway.
Black Cab tour is an interest. I know a long day.
I see Paddywagon tours offers an option?

Is it better to do on our own & only go to Belfast? Bus or train? Wish we had more time but do not. This is in Aug. on a Sat or Sun. Does the day make a difference?

Appreciate the insight. Any other day tour we should look at? Thank you

You may as well do Belfast by bus, rather than train- if taking the DIY option.

The rail line is closed north of Lisburn for major engineering work, 7 days a week until the Fall. Bus replacement is being provided from Lisburn to Belfast.

You can easily go to Belfast from Dublin by bus or train. Bus companies are Dublin Express, Aircoach or Translink. Depending on where you’re staying in Dublin, train could be convenient too. Last month in June we took the bus, but stayed in Belfast for a couple of nights. I think it’s definitely possible to do it as a day trip and see Belfast and take a black cab tour, but getting out to the Giants Causeway without a car might be difficult. I saw a public bus called the Causeway Rambler that you could take out to the Giants Causeway. I’m not sure how often they run or where they pick up from etc, so I can’t say how efficient that would be for a day trip with other activities planned. But could be an option.

As for Paddywagon Tours, we took a day trip with them on one of our Belfast days. It included Giants Causeway, Dunluce Castle and the Dark Hedges. I thought it was a fine tour. They showed up on time and the driver/guide was friendly and gave commentary between stops. The stops themselves were unguided, you were on your own. I think the tour you’re considering from Dublin would get you what you’re looking for without a lot of extra stress and planning.

Thank you. We were thinking of a bus tour because of the trains being out. Not sure though after being on a RS tour for 6 days if we want to go on another tour.

Any black cab tours one would recommend?
Thank you

We took Paddywagon from Belfast to Giant’s Causeway, and there were folks from Dublin on board already. So you could book that from Dublin and just stay in Belfast after. The bus has a luggage bay under.

The driver offered to have black cabs meet us after to do that tour. We’d already booked one for the next day, so we didn’t take that option. I’m glad we didn’t, as I think I would have been overwhelmed. You can get to GC by public transport from Belfast, as well.

The Paddywagon stops at a pub on the way back. You can opt out of the lunch, which was mediocre.

We took a Black Cab Tour with Paddy Campbell’s Famous Black Cab Tours and enjoyed it. It was the Political Murals Tour, about 90 minutes long). The driver/guide picked us up at our hotel and then dropped off at the Titanic Museum at our request, since we were doing that next (for an additional 5 GBP since it was a little further out).
