AerLingus from US to Dublin/Cityjet Dub to Florence

I will be flying via AerLingus from Chicago to Dublin (Terminal 2). I will then need to catch a flight from Dublin to London City via Cityjet (Terminal 1) approx. 2 hrs. later. Do I proceed directly to Terminal 1 after landing or is there a passport check or customs security that I will need to go through? I will hand carry my luggage, so nothing will be checked-in. Is there a customs form that needs to be filled out ahead of time? When I arrive at London City I will have a connecting flight to Florence. I have the same question with regards to London City Airport. Has anyone flown in/out of London City airport?

My first question is the Cityjet flights on a totally separate itinerary? I hope the Cityjet flights are fully flexible. Just thinking if the inbound flight is delayed.
There are no customs form to fill out. Last year our transfer was on Aer Lingus so we did not have to leave Terminal 2. There is no stamp in my passport for that, it was done at arriving airport in Germany. But having to transfer to Terminal 1, you may need in Ireland entry stamp and then go through security again at Terminal 1.

From personal experience I can confirm that you do not have to leave the secure airside zone to get from T2 to T1. So don't follow the crowd to immigration. Find out what gate your CityJet flight departs from and follow signs to that gate.

You will do your Schengen immigration in Florence then.

London City is a great, small, cramped airport. I fly in and out of it several times per year. What exactly is your question? There are no passport controls between the UK and the Republic of Ireland.

Because Dublin to London is in effect a domestic flight you may well go through an immigration check in Dublin.

From the London City website
"Unfortunately there is no specific transfer area at the Airport so you will need to clear Arrivals via Customs and then go through Security again before returning to the Departure Lounge. You should leave adequate time in between your flights."

You will pass through Schengen immigration in Florence.

Thank you for your responses - I was able to get a refund from Cityjet because of the short connection time. I am now flying from Dublin to Venice for one night on my way to Florence. I know .... one night in Venice really? But I have been there, so it's an added bonus. Currently trying to decide on hotel : near the train station for the next day departure or closer to the action so I have more time in the morning before checking out? So many choices ----

Two hours is actually ample for Dublin and the transfer corridor but you are probably better off with your revised itinerary if on separate tickets (were you? - it wasn't clear). You never said what your LCY transfer time was.
