Advise on separate bill in restaurants

We are a group of three, a married couple and myself and will be driving for 10 days from Dublin east and south back to Dublin. I need to know if it's ok to request a separate bill at restaurants. I want to be able to order without limiting myself so wouldn't like to split the bill among ourselfs, but don't want to be rude if that is not proper in Ireland. Please advise.

Was not a problem for me when I was in Ireland.

Sometimes the bill is presented all together for the table even when separate is requested, but the wait staff had no problem in breaking it down as we each paid in most cases. Since there is no separate tax on the bill or other additional charges for a restaurant, it was also very easy to just pay our individual parts when we used cash if they were not willing or able to split the bill up for us.

I agree with Mark....no problem. I traveled with my brother, SIL, her sis and husband so often we had a 3 way split. Usually we told the server up front as we would do here at home.
