recommendation needed for purchasing a sims card

Greetings,
We will be traveling to the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland in about 3 weeks. We have Samsung S7 Edge phones and would like to purchase a sims card for at least one of our phones upon arrival in Ireland. We will be in Ireland for 25 days making the loop Dublin to Dublin. We have requested GPS in our rental car but still feel the need for a phone that works in Ireland and it appears that purchasing a Sims card is the best option. I have been looking online but I am still not sure which way to go. We basically want to be able to use the phone (as back up) to guide us in and out of cities while driving and locate places in the cities while on foot, call and/or text our B&Bs with our arrival time and (Heavens Forbid) be able to call for road side assistance if the need should arise. I would prefer to deal with a live person to get it set up and make sure it is working.

Would it be better to purchase the sims card upon arrival at the Dublin Airport? We will be in Dublin 3 nights and my thought is that if I have a problem I don't want to go back to the airport to have it resolved. So I guess my question is where should we purchase the card and does anyone have a company to recommend ?

Thanks

Make sure your phone is unlocked, if it isn't, talk to your phone company.

I've used several different SIM cards. Most are about the same. Supposedly there is somewhere to buy it in the airport but I haven't found it. We usually get from a local phone store once we get to our destination.
