Advice? County Cork Villages

Looking for two villages to retreat to for 7-10 days each In June 2023. We’d prefer not to rent a car after leaving a workshop near Clonakillty. Immersing ourselves in village culture to inspire writing, music, and maybe drawing seems a big ask, but maybe one of you has had such an experience in the Cork refion.

Preferred, but not required:
Pubs
Grocer
Restaurant/coffee shop
Community center/library/museum
Bus stop
Walkability
Self-catered lodging

I haven't been yet but a friend from Limerick has told us we would love Kinsale, which she says is a very "foodie" little town, and we're planning on being there for a few days in early June as well.

She also has said Cork City itself is worth a stay, and she especially pointed out the English Market there.

Kinsale definitely meets your criteria. We stayed at the Old Presbytery which I believe has changed hands. At the time the apartment we stayed in (now called the Willows) had a very small kitchen. The kitchen looks like it's been remodeled and perhaps enlarged. It also looks like it would be out of my price range now. https://www.oldpres.com/

Macroom. We’re going there for a month later this year.

We stayed in Kinsale last year and loved it. We rented a 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment at Old Presbytery and it was one of the best places we’ve stayed, and we’ve stayed in a lot of places.
