We have a trip booked to Ireland October 1st. We will be staying in Adare. Is it possible to do a day trip to Innishmore? How much time would it take? We will have a car.

Rick's Ireland book says, "Most travelers visit Inishmore (Inis Mór) as a day trip by boat from Galway [actually from Rossaveel Ferry Port]. Boats from Doolin are too slow and weather-dependent to allow enough time for a same-day round-trip to Inishmore." Drive time from Adare to Rossaveel is about two hours each way per Google Maps, but also check www.viamichelin.com, which may be more conservative.
