Accommodations in Dublin

Plan on spending 3 nights in Dublin. Thursday August 18, Friday August 19 and Saturday August 20.

Looking on line for relatively good priced hotels or rooms for the dates above.

Would like to be close to the city centre.

Would anyone have any suggestions?

Many thanks,

We were in Dublin last week for three nights and we stayed at The Davenport. It is within walking distance of many sites, was extremely clean, and the service was great. Their breakfast buffet was extremely good also. The rooms were really nice, especially the bed. We would stay there again should we ever return to Dublin.

I also stayed at the Davenport about six years ago. I liked it. Great location.

And if you're a fan of James Joyce's Ulysses, there are two place mentioned in the book located across the street from the hotel.

Generally speaking hotels north of the River Liffey will be less expensive but still within walking distance to the Ha'penny Bridge, Temple Bar and Trinity College. There are a number on Upper O'Connel Street includig Wynn's and a Holiday Inn Express. I stayed at Wynns in 2018. It was fine with a very nice breakfast but it is on the tram line and therefore you get more street noise. The Holiday Inn is a little further away and looks perfectly fine from the outside. I know folks who have stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn at the Customs House, which is further east. They thought it was nice.

I didn't have much luck finding anyplace I thought was well priced, so I chose a place that has a good location, some interesting packages and discounts as well as music every night.

I'm booked for 3 nights in late July at the Castle Hotel:

Good luck finding a place that suits your needs.
