Accommodation Recommendations

My wife and I would appreciate accommodation recommendations for Dublin, Galway, Dingle, Kenmare, Kinsale and Kilkenny.

Our preference is 3 star or comparable, but not to exceed 4 star.
A want would be air conditioning although I understand often not available in Ireland
Our musts are:
- very close and easy walk to old city center, restaurants and pubs
- ensuite bathroom, preferably with shower
- getting car upon departure from Galway, so with exception of Dublin and Galway, parking available on site or close by
- a lift or luggage assistance and a limited number of flights of stairs if room is not ground level
- quiet with no late night noisy pubs within the facility or adjacent

Just back. When are you going? Air conditioning wasn’t needed but warm blankets were. It’s Ireland, it rains a lot! In Kilkenny we stayed at Butlers Court. Dingle was Brenner’s. Both are in RS’s book and would probably fit your requirements.

You state ground level. Although Butlers Court does have this because it’s a small complex most hotel’s first floor is one floor up.

When will you be going? We are staying in most of those places between August 25 and Sept 5. I plan to make a trip report.

In Kilkenny, I stayed at the Hibernian. Right in the center of town. I had a room in the back and upstairs. Very quiet.

In 2019, my husband and I stayed at Mena House B & B in Kilkenny. http://www.menahousebandb.com
We think it was a RS recommend, but I don't have my Ireland book beside me. It is about 15 minutes walk to city centre. We drove to the center at least one of our days; may have walked the other time.. Katherine was wonderful. We loved Kilkenny. I'm sure she has at least one ground floor room. It may have only been a partial flight of stairs to our room overlooking her garden. Lovely breakfast, as I recall.

Last June our daughter was in Dublin for work. We recommended that she stay at Mena House for her little trip to Kilkenny. She really enjoyed staying with Katherine, also.

It's was in a residential setting on a fairly main street, if I'm remembering correctly.
