A couple nights in Belfast.

We will be stopping in Belfast for 2 nights in July this summer on our way from Edinburgh to travel around Ireland. What is the best part of town to stay for walking around as a base camp for seeing the city in a short period of time before we travel on by Train? -Bill

In answer to your question….City Centre. There’s the Premier Inn on Alfred Street.

Don’t miss visiting the Titanic Museum, St George’s Market, Ulster Museum, The Spaniard Pub and if you like seafood, Mournes. Honestly, been years, but I still dream of their Seafood Chowder.

Definitely agree on city centre- there are lots of hotels near Europa bus station/city hall area. Do you need more specific ideas for what to do in Belfast?

On our own trip a few years ago we stayed over in the Titanic Quarter near the Harland and Wolffe shipyard where the Titanic Museum is located. There's a Premier Inn adjacent to the museum that's really quite nice, and which is a 20 minute walk along a pedestrian-friendly path that crosses the river and delivers you into the heart of the very pretty city center.

We ended up getting rooms in the old town as that seemed like the area we were looking for. Thanks!
