8 nights in Ireland Mid -October. A few ideas please!

We will be in Ireland mid-October of this year. I have the car reserved, have the last night booked at the Park Inn after we turn in the car, and have an idea of an Itinerary. We will fly into Shannon and take the bus in to Galway for 3 nights. Next day, will do an Aran Islands tour. Day 3- pick up the rental car and tour the Connemara area. Night 4 is my largest dilemma. I originally thought I would spend the day in County Clare/The Burren and spend the night in the area. Not sure to do this or move on and spend the night south. Also was thinking we would use Killarney for 3 nights as a base for the south.. I am open to all suggestions and would love it if the Ireland experts would critique my plan.

This forum has been so helpful to us in the past with our trips to Italy, Belgium, The Netherlands and England. I look forward to your response.

If your are up for a very, very special splurge, spend a night at Ashford Castle and participate in a Hawk Walk. A night at Ashford, even if you are able to book one of their specials, is not inexpensive, but if your budget allows, it will be an experience you will never forget. The Hawk Walk experience there is also fabulous.

If you decide to head south, definitely don't miss Connor's Pass (incredible) and the Dingle area. Kinsale is also delightful and worth an overnight.

Bunratty Folk Park was enjoyable, and we also enjoyed a short stop at Adare Manor (which is a hotel), and the village of Adare is also cute (but does not take a lot of time, maybe for a quick snack, etc.

Three nights in Galway seems like a lot of time, but there way be specific things you plan to see/do.

Based on recommendations from this board, I added 2 nights in Dingle to our trip. Everyone that I talk to much preferred Dingle to Killarney. We are staying 2 nights in Killarney as well.

I second Margaret's advice, as well as Sharon's. Some of my favorite places are Dingle and Kinsale. BTW, Christy, I am from south Georgia, about an hour and a half south of you. Small world. : )

Thank you ladies for your responses.. I knew I could count on some good response from the folks on this board. Let me tell you what I just experienced on another forum .It was a question about car rental cost experiences.. I got a really immature, rude response telling me to put on on my big person pants and find out for myself. I was so offended .I reported them... They probably will do nothing. I could not believe the rudeness. Thanks for any and all kind remarks!
