Flying into Dublin - want to do Cliffs of Moher/Aran Island/ Ring Of Kerry/ Waterford /Dublin and a castle or two - NOT driving a Car - recommendations for the 2 best cities to base out of and recommendations on REASONABLE day tour company? and any favorite hotels in those 2 cities. Many thanks - 1st time visiting Ireland

I think you'll need four base cities to cover all the ground you propose -- Dublin, Galway, Waterford, and perhaps Killarney. All have train and/or bus (coach) service but you'll need to plan carefully around the schedules. It would help to know how much time you will have for this trip. I wouldn't try it with less than two weeks, but you may prefer (or need) to do it faster.
If you have to pare it back for time, I'd suggest Dublin and Galway, which are well connected. Galway is a good base for Aran and the Cliffs of Moher. It has bus service (Aircoach) to and from Dublin Airport, which could save you time coming or going.

We have 7 nights max - trying to figure out if we can see it all - taking day trips by either a tour company or hiring a minivan?

Have a look at Rabbies or Paddywagon tours. Borth seem to get good reviews on here.
