7 hour Dublin layover - Malahide

We hope to get out of the airport during our layover in Dublin. We know we will lose time in the airport and so perhaps our 7 hours (daytime hours) will only allow 3.5 to 4 hours. We will be arriving at terminal 2. Will it be fairly clear where to catch the local bus (#102 to Malahide)? Any tips are appreciated.

From the timetable we know it is stop 7348 at the Airport. Outside Terminal 1 there are three lines of stops. Unfortunately neither the airport plan or Google maps shows stop 7348, both sources just show 7347.

But it has to be in the same proximity. It will be clearly signed- if in doubt there will be plenty of other people, including bus drivers on other routes, around to ask.

Since you're somewhat pinched for time why not do it the easy way and just grab a taxi from the airport to the castle ... or wherever you may be going in Malahide?
The cost for 2 people won't be that much more and you'll enjoy timely and efficient door to door service.

Thanks much. We didn't want to waste any time searching for the bus stop but it sounds as though we should just head outside Terminal 1 and we will figure it out. And yes, if time gets tight, we'll take a taxi!

Thanks Concerned local. We are flying Seattle to Lisbon with the daytime layover in Dublin. Our bags will be checked through - we will only each have a small tote bag. (On our return from Lisbon, we will have a four day stopover in Dublin.) My original post had mostly been to ask for help on the Malahide bus stop location at the airport. I'm satisfied we will figure it out. But, I'm also happy to have any advice.

Concerned local - Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. This is extremely helpful information. Lunch at www.gibneys.com sounds like a good plan.

Concerned local, Yes! It was a great plan. We headed out of the airport and followed the signage directions leading to the buses. The local public buses were located just beyond the coaches heading into Dublin, Galway or Cork. We needed to ask someone which coach stand to use to catch the #102 Malahide bus. The trip took about 45 minutes - a bit slow going through Swords. But, it was an interesting ride. We were able to wander around in Malahide and did have time for Gibneys! It was very simple and fast to get back to the airport and through security. Thanks again.
