Our group of friends have 6 hours in Dublin before we go onto Munich. We would like to see live music. We'll be in the Temple Bar area around 1pm on a Friday. Thanks for any suggestions to hear a music session.

It's a hike from Temple Bar, but The Cobblestone will also have something going, and it will likely be a "session" rather than the "live music" found in Temple Bar which will be guitars (and maybe an accordion) with vocals. Depends on what you're looking for. Sessions are getting hard to find because the crowd loves singing along so musicians have adjusted.

In 2019 when we were staying in Smithfield (in the same block as the Cobblestone), they were open by noon every day. The afternoon sessions appeared to be regular weekly gatherings. Flutes on Tuesday, fiddles on Thursday etc. I'm disappointed things have changed.
Although the data might be old, theSession.org website mentions O'Donoghue's having a Friday lunchtime session.
