My husband has a work trip to Ireland in May. We will be spending 2 nights in Killarney and 3 nights in Adare. We are planning on flying in to Dublin 3 days early and renting a car to make our way to Killarney. Looking for a great itiniery of things to see/do and where to stay on our journey.

Killarney was nice. We walked a few blocks to the Tourist Office, and took a tour bus around the Ring of Kerry, run by Paddywagon Tours. Very good bus tour. We also liked the Bombay Palace Indian food restaurant, in Killarney. As for hotels, we stayed in the McSweeney Arms Hotel, very good, friendly staff, good food.

Day 1. From Dublin, head down through the Wicklow Mountains stopping at Powerscourt Gardens and Glendalough. Overnight in Kilkenny.
Day 2 explore Kilkenny and the surrounding area (some ideas here) Overnight in Kilkenny
Day 3 Drive to Killarney via Rock of Cashel and/or Cahir Castle
OR
Day 2 From Kilkenny, visit Rock of Cashel, and/or Cahir and spend the night at either Kinsale or Cobh.
Day 3 Drive along the coast through Skibereen and either drive the Sheep's Head Peninsula, or Ring of Beara or visit Bantry House and gardens before ending up in Killarney.
