I have a 22-hour layover in Dublin a couple of weeks from now. I'm looking for lodgings for the night near the airport. I've never been to Ireland and would like to see a bit of it while I'm there. My dream would be to walk along the seacoast for a bit, to visit a few shops, and find a nice pub for a meal before turning in. I am a woman traveling alone, so I'd like to feel safe while doing a bit of adventuring. Any suggestions greatly appreciated! Thanks :)
Hi there,
I stayed at the Grand Canal Hotel, when I went to Dublin for 3 days.
I am planning on going back next year in June for only 2 or 3 nights. I think I will try for a closer location,
But, I used the Aircoach to get from the airport to my Dublin hotel.
I felt is was very reasonable. I believe it was between 7 and 8.5 euros each way. They do have the options to purchase a round trip fare.

I also understand that you can make a reservation online too.
If you have any questions, you are welcome to PM me.
Hope this helped,
I purchased aircoach tickets. The bus was to pick us up on O'Connell St. at 5:30 AM for a 8:30 flight.
It never showed. I then had to get a taxi at the que. I will never use aircoach again.
You can take a local bus into town. Look for a hotel close to the downtown and then go here to see what bus to take. https://www.dublinbus.ie/Route-Planner/ Googlemaps may be of some help here.
If you plan to use either of the Airport coaches into Dublin, add extra travel time to the schedules. Road construction in Dublin is murder especially on O'Connel St. They are building a new tram and delays are forever.
