2 nights in Dingle (vs 1)? Stops between Dingle and Dublin?

Currently have two nights in dingle...will be coming from an overnight in kinsale and will be heading back to Dublin (yes, long ride, we know but would love 2-3 stop suggestions along route).

Wondering if we really need 2 nights in dingle (moving daily is non issue for us) and am considering moving on to Killarney for the second night.

Will shorten the ride back to Dublin and maybe will prevent back tracking? Everyone seems to think Dingle deserves 2 nights?

Blasket Island would be great, but we will be there end of march -- seems we are too early for any tours. they either aren't running yet or if they are they are full. I have dingledolphin 1 hour trip on itinerary but will wait to see weather before booking.

If you are interested in Killarney, do that on the way to Dingle and spend two nights in Dingle. That then gives you a full day to explore the area, including the Slea Head. There's plenty to see and do to fill a day.

There are lots of intersting places to stop on the way back to Dublin form Dingle - Tralee. Listowel (don't miss the Lartigue Monorail & Museum and the castle), Limerick, Nenagh, Birr (with its Georgian architecture and castle with gardens and a science museum)...

Last time we drove from Dingle to Dublin, we stopped for lunch near Limerick and then the Rock of Dunamuse. You should go via Conor Pass is you haven't already been.

On a different trip, we found Birr Castle (especially the telescope, 2nd floor museum, and garden) to be wonderful - well worth the diversion. You could stop for lunch in a sweet town like Killaloe (we visited by LeBoat).
