Hi,

Where have you looked and what initial research have you done abourt Ireland and the places you might want to go and things you might want to see or do? Spend a bit of time now and make sure you get the itinerary designed for you.

Are you wanting to join an escourted tour or are you planning to do it yourself either by car ot public transport?

If you are coming off a translatlantic flight remember to build in a day to recover from jet lag. Also don't try and cram too much in. Allow time to relax and enjoy Ireland. Driving in Ireland once off the motorways can be quite slow and it will take longer to cover distances than you might expect. A funeral (rreally big in Ireland) or horse racing can cause massive traffic jams and delays.

Don't have too many one night stops - they are hard work.

DK Eyewitness guide to Ireland is a good place to start as it has lots of pictures describing the different areas and the maps are sufficiently detailed for initial planning. Use that to decide what areas you want to visit and the main attractions. (These can be picked up from Amazon. It doesn't matter if it isn't the latest edition as long as you check opening times on the internet.)

There are lots of 14 day itineraries on the web and it is interesting to read them and find out what different people have done. Many do cover the same ground but with a slightly different emphasis on places picked. There is quite a lot of advice and useful information to pick up too. Some I've picked up are:
