Does anyone know of a safe place for young people to stay relatively close to the Dublin airport?
How old is young?

I think any decent hotel would be safe.. how dangerous do you think Ireland is???? How about telling us the budget ( in euros) as it would seem young folks usually are on a strict budget.
Do they need to stay by the airport.. airport hotels are generally not super nice..nothing to do or see around them etc.
Are they just looking for accommodation for the night before a flight out? The airport is not close to the city center in Dublin, so it wouldn't be very convenient to stay by the airport for several days and go into the city repeatedly.
I agree with the posters on this thread. Ireland isn't really considered all that dangerous as compared to certain neighborhoods in L.A. or perhaps Central America. Plus, we don't typically recommend staying near the airport as transportation to an from can add up and it doesn't make for a memorable last night. If you have to stay near the airport, here is one that we list in our Ireland guidebook:
[$$] Radisson Blu Dublin Airport (Db-€79-119, best prices if booked online, tel. 01/844-6000, www.radissonblu.ie).
I'd take a hostel in the city center, they are very safe, cheap and most of them can call you a taxi (ride to the airport is about 20-30 depends on traffic).
