This is the frame of the trip in Ireland

" me and my wife arrive Ireland after 3 days in London
rent car in Dublin mid July 2017
drive to Kinsale for 2 days visit surrounding area
drive to Killarney thru kenmare we stay 2 nights in Killarney drive Ring of Kerry
drive to Dingle 1 night at Dingle
drive to Ballyvaughan thru Cliff of Mohar 1 night Ballyvaughan
get ferry from tarbert to killimer
after that
drive to Athlone 1 night
drive to Dublin 2 nights,

back to London 2 nights 3 full days "

I would like a recommendation for a nice and pleasant trip for a whole day

For a pretty drive on a nice day I'd suggest the loop around Connemara: starting in Galway head west on the N59 towards Clifden (which would be a good lunch stop), then out along the Sky Road loop (beautiful) connecting back to the N59, continuing to the National Park for a short hike, further along to Kylemore Abbey and ending up at the picturesque village of Cong, then onward to Athlone. It's a very pretty drive on a sunny day - one of our favorites in Ireland in fact.
Another possibility would be to stop by the monastic settlement at Conmacnoise in late afternoon or early evening. It's one of the most evocative places in the west of Ireland and typically not quite as crowded as Glendalough.
