Any recommendations on which glacier hike to do while we are in Iceland (May)? Thoughts on the length of time or which company to use? Thank you.

We used Troll and went to Solheimajokull. We were on a full day tour, and the glacier hike was to be about 3 hours of it. The guide on the glacier asked us if we wanted to go a bit longer, and everyone agreed, so we went almost another full hour. It was a great trip! We have been on glaciers before though as my husband is a mountain climber here in the cascades, and I have been on several as well while in our mountains. So even though it was not new to us, it was still so much fun. We went in February and coming back down the glacier at sunset, looking out over the ocean, was just stunning.

Thank you. We are considering Skaftafellsjokull due to our itinerary. Does anyone have a comment on reasons to choose one over the other? Probably either will be excellent.
