Wedding Vow Renewal Urgent advice needed

Hi All

I'm looking for advice from experienced travelers to western Iceland please
I'm supeising my husband next year for his 40th bday with a trip to Iceland.. but also a vow renewal while we are there.
I will be hiring a UK based photographer and make up artist to fly out with me.

I was going to go last week of Feb,first week of Aug travelling to Budhir church and staying at hotel Budhir (snaefellness area ) and maybe travel to another village or city to experience less remote Iceland.

My advice is needed for the weather ! Like is it a bad time to go . Will there be storms and snow which will prevent us travelling? Will roads be passable ?? Will we fly in safely?

Is it more advised to go maybe April?
Will is still see the nothern lights?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Kristy xx

Yes there will be lots of snow. Just read RS’s Iceland book which is excellent. He recommends sticking near Reykjavik in the winter if driving and if venturing into countryside to only do so in organized 4x4 tour van/bus. You do have a much higher chance of seeing the northern lights in the winter. Also be advised the sun comes up at like 11 AM and goes down at like 4 PM that time of year.
