I am looking for a decent quality paper road map of Iceland, either a waterproof fold out one, or one of those book type maps.
Most of the ones I see seem to be from, at newest, 2018/2019. Given that we are there for 2 weeks and going all over the country I’d really like a fairly new one. I’ve already heard of several road construction areas where we would be going so I’d like to know what’s newly paved, what tunnels are now open, and other things.
So… anyone know of anything fairly new?
Have you looked on Amazon? I see one dated 2023 and one from 2022, and by the time you go, there may well be a later one
I was pretty much only on Amazon, the maps may say 2022 or 2023 but if you drill down into the publication date you can see it’s a much older map
We have the waterproof paper map from Amazon and have used it on 5 trips to Iceland. What you want for the most current conditions though is the app Safe Travel as well as Road.is app which will give all of the current conditions for all roads as well as alerts etc.
I found a waterproof and tear-resistant National Geographic Iceland Adventure Travel Map copyrighted in 2022 on Amazon that I really like. It's big but nicely detailed.
