I am trying to find out whether there is Uber in Iceland, and I keep reading conflicting reports. Does anyone know for sure? Does Uber exist in Iceland? We'll be staying in Reykjavík and will need it there.

The Uber website will confirm what countries it operates in. In my experience, Reykjavik is highly walkable, very compact and easy to get around on foot, and has great bus service to areas a bit on the outskirts (and to/from the airport). Do you anticipate being somewhere off the grid?

According to their website they do not operate in Iceland at this time. If you feel you need Uber because you're unable or unwilling to use public transportation, then just use taxis.
