How much time does it normally take to pick up luggage/clear customs at KEF (arriving from the USA at 9am)? I am trying to decide on a bus time to the Blue Lagoon. It appears that my best choices are 11:30 and 13:00 using Destination Blue Lagoon. Renting a car is not an option.

It’s not really customs, it is passport control. I have passed through passport control 3 times at KEF and spent between 15 and 45 minutes. The one time I checked luggage, it took a very long time, 45 mins, but I believe there was some strike action or an another unusual occurrence that caused that. I would plan for an hour total and hope for 30 mins.

Thanks Jay! That means the 11:30 time SHOULD give us plenty of time (barring flight delays!) I was surprised that this topic did not come up when I searched.
