I would like to take a taxi from downtown at my hotel to the sky lagoon spa. It's about a 15 minute drive. The bus /walking thing doesn't work for mew in this case. What's your experience with taxi's in Iceland?

I've taken a taxi in Reykjavik. My hotel called for one and I don't remember there being any problems.

We took a taxi from Sky Lagoon back to the hotel, and the people at the Sky Lagoon called and arranged the taxi for us. My friends made a round trip back to and from two days later, and had no issues at all. The hotels will definitely arrange the taxis for you if you aren't comfortable calling for one.
