Sundhollin and Blue Lagoon Locker Rooms

We plan to visit both spots, and I will be with 15-year-olds. I was hoping to get information about the situation in the male locker rooms (e.g., showering prior to entering pools). I get the argument about doing as the Europeans do and embracing our naked bodies and all, however, I want to get as much information as possible to best navigate the fully nude bit with my teenage son as I anticipate that it will be a highly uncomfortable situation for him. Are there any private showering/changing areas for him to access at either of these pools?

The Blue Lagoon does have private shower stalls, along with just a wall of showers, so no worries there. There are toilets that if he wants to change in there, he can. The biggest thing is to make sure everyone understands that they need to shower naked, and with soap, not just a "stand under the water and rinse off". He could go into a toilet and come out wrapped with a towel to get to the shower, then shower and put on the swim trunks.

Sundhollin is a wall of open showers, but I have heard that there is one private stall, but I have never noticed it, but that is in the women's changing area. My husband is not home right now to ask about the mens, but I assume it would be the same. Again, the same showering thoroughly is the rule here.

Just remind them that the pools/lagoons do not use chlorine etc so the reason for the strict showering is to keep everyone healthy.

Thanks for confirming the situation at the Blue Lagoon as their website suggested private showering, but I am glad to hear firsthand information on it. Any updates on Sundhollin to pass along would be appreciated. My son definitely understands the importance of full body showering and the rationale behind it, but wrapping his head around being fully naked will be tough regardless.
