We would like to include a stopover in Iceland either on our way in or out of Europe. Any suggestions for tour companies, doing it
on our own?
Thanks
Iceland is pretty easy on your own. If you won't have a car, look at doing a Golden Circle tour. Multiple companies do them.
Cameron Hewitt recently co-wrote Rick's new Iceland book. Here's his extensive and detailed recent blog post about seeing Iceland as a stopover with his parents: https://blog.ricksteves.com/cameron/2019/01/iceland-72-hours/
There are two large tour companies that offer many tours in Iceland:
Reykjavik Excursions:
https://www.re.is
Reykjavik Sightseeing
https://reykjaviksightseeing.is
They both offer basically the same thing and your hotel can book these for you.
Thank you all for your information. I did purchased the RS Iceland guide this weekend.
DH is a little hesitant to renting a car, so will look into tours. Now to figure out how many days
and whether to do it going over or coming home. So blessed that these are my biggest concerns today.
We’ve used Grayline twice and have been pleased with the tours. We also used them for transfers to/from Reykyavik.
