We're planning a 2 day/1 night trip around Snaelfellsness, departing from Reykjavik. Any recommendations on where to stay to divide the trip somewhat evenly?

I personally am a fan of Stikkishokmur and we have stayed there on 3 of our trips. Arnastapi would work well too, or Grundarfjordur. In Stikkisholmur, we have had great stays at both Akkeri Guesthouse and Hotel Egilsen. They are next door to each other and both are wonderful. If you need dinner when you are there, Skipper is good for casual fish n chips/burgers, and then Narfeyrarstofa, which is directly across the street from Egilsen, for fine dining but still casual. It is so good! Regardless, you will want to make reservations wherever you choose.

Thanks. Will check out Stikkishokmur and Arnastapi. Have already looked at Grundarfjour, but found pretty slim pickings.
