Small group tour, 2 nights, 3 days.

Hello, we JUST booked and our dates can't be changed. We would like recs for a small tour company for Dec. 30- Jan. 1. We are a 60 year old couple. Ice caves, diamond beach, golden circle. Maybe easy hiking. We don't need a blue lagoon stop as we will do that on the way back to the airport. I'd say our budget is midrange and a bit higher. The main priority is a smaller group. Recommendations are very appreciated.

I answered your question on TA:) That said, I would look at Troll or Nicetravels. Both do small groups and are good companies. I have not used Nice, but have used Troll a number of times and they have been wonderful. If you want a northern lights tour, look at Aurora Experts. He is very different than most of the other companies as it is a small family owned company and the northern lights is all he does. He knows his stuff. He only takes small groups out, and does not follow the masses. We have used him a few times and have been very pleased.

Linda, I would love an update on what you ended up booking. My friend and I are going in February, also 60 and are there 3 nights before going on to Finland. Did you use any of these groups? Thanks!

Hi @PHXSully . We just got back from Iceland and yes, we used a small group tour company. Nice Travel. We had an amazing time doing a 2 day South Coast tour. It included ice caves, waterfalls, black beach, the glacier lagoon and diamond beach, a couple of churches, and the best guide ever called Jonas. One night accommodation and breakfast was included. $1300 ish for 2. I highly recommend. Our timing wasn't totally ideal because there were a lot of foreign stduents who were always late to the bus due to filming stupid tiktoks, etc... 17 people on the tour. Not a coach, but a large shuttle type van. The bus was comfy, but no toilet. The guide stopped regularly for toilet breaks and snacks.

Be prepared for the weather!!! You will need waterproof, warms hats and gloves, thermal underwear. It was really spectacular but the wind chill there is fearsome. Enjoy!
