Reykjavík Neighborhoods

so what is the difference between downtown Reykjavík vs central Reykjavík vs Reykjavík 101 or are they one and the same with different names?

When I read hotel and other locations, I see these descriptions used. One description says downtown and one says central and one say 101.

They all pretty much are the same thing, although postal code 101 can sprawl a bit more. Somewhat the same with central Reykjavik, but downtown, to me at least, means basically between Snorrabraut on the east and a block or two west of Center Hotel Plaza, but including the waterfront between the Sun Voyager and Harpa all the way to the Maritime Museum on the wharf.

Thank you mikliz98

Derek sent tme a link to Full Suitcase

If you have not read it, Center Hotels are strongly suggested most especially Center Hotel Plaza.

This article is geared towards the first time visitor and it looks like it will be very valuable to me.

bostonphil--I checked out that website and it was pretty good. My only quibble with it is that for hotels with parking, CH Midgardur and Laugavegur should have been included, but of course that does not pertain to your situation:)

I hvae to tell you that I watched a very good youtube video.

The Content Creator really liked both Center Plaza and Center Midgarder

The video is about staying at these two hotels.

It was so real. You look at a map and you see dots but this was the hotel, both outside and inside. It was the area. It was the street. It was the square.

I even saw a very good breakfast for both and even a welcome drink for both.

I have tried to copy the link and am going to see if took
